2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel Hits American Markets, Priced From $55,750

P10_0151_a5 The Porsche Cayenne diesel has been on its way to America for a while now, and will finally greet U.S. customers this week at the 2012 New York Auto Show.

Europeans markets have had the Cayenne diesel since 2009, so it seems sensible that Porsche will bring it to U.S. showrooms by September of this year at a base MSRP of $55,750, not including destination charges.

The Cayenne will get its power from a 3.0-liter V6, making 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, making it capable of a 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds. The diesel will also be a capable tow vehicle, rated at 7,716 lbs of towing capacity. The diesel engine will help the Cayenne achieve 20 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway and 23 combined.

The Cayenne diesel will be the fifth model variant in the Cayenne family, truly rounding out the lineup of Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne S Hybrid and Cayenne Turbo.
