Second BlackBerry 10 developer phone in the works

second-blackberry-developer-phone-in-works-0 BlackBerry maker RIM has said there will be a second BlackBerry developer device released later in the year.

Talking at BlackBerry Jam, Alec Saunders, RIM’s VP of Developer Relations confirmed that there would be a second "very limited-edition" version of a BlackBerry 10 device nearer the official launch date later in the year.

The exclusive device will be available to any developer who has bagged a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha unit, developed an app and had it approved.

The reason? RIM confirmed that at present there are no plans on upgrading the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha unit to the final version of BlackBerry 10 but that they are keen on rewarding developers for their endeavours.

In the meantime we recommend those that are keen on getting their hands on the device being handed out at BlackBerry World in Florida, or the yet to come "very limited-edition" device keep an eye on eBay.
