"American Idol" is yet to reveal its winner and runner-up, but whoever win the first and second place later this season are set for a big gig this summer. The first- and second-place finishers have already booked to rock the upcoming annual "Today" summer concert series on May 31.
They are joined in the lineup by such big stars as Pitbull, The Band Perry, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Kenny Chesney, Maroon 5, Flo Rida, Zac Brown Band, Hot Chelle Rae, Train, Jason Mraz and Christina Perri. Opening the concert on May 18 will be Usher.
On "Idol" itself, Colton Dixon was sent packing last Thursday night, April 19. For next week, six remaining contestants Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone are going to do a Queen-themed performance show.
The finalists additionally will perform a group medley with two original members of the rock band, Brian May and Roger Taylor. Katy Perry will sing "Part of Me," the Queen Extravaganza will perform the band's classic smash hit "Somebody to Love", former finalist of "Idol" season 10 Stefano Langone will showcase his new single "I'm on a Roll".
